Himalayan Nature and Adventure Foundation
No matter wherever and whenever a natural or man-made calamity has struck, HNAF is one of the first agencies to provide relief and succor to the distressed. We took sincere responsibility on the issues like:

Covid Relief:

Relief (foodstuff and daily necessities), medicine, and medical assistance was provided to the poverty-ridden families who were advised to be in-home isolation during the pandemic period. Along with the cooperation of Siliguri Metropolitan Police and North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, our members and volunteers reached every home and person who was in severe medical and financial crisis. We provided masks, sanitizers, and PPE kits to other organizations for the smooth functioning of their work.

Disaster Management:

we initiate programmes to provide rapid and effective relief measures to the regions affected by some natural calamities. Our volunteers took initiative to provide relief and rescue work at
Ponbu, Kambal Basti, and Tinling village (July 1996) after a massive landslide
Todey-Tangta and Gorubathan (August 1996) after landslide
Gaisal Train Disaster (August 1999)
Accident at Tista River (September 2000)
Maldah and Dinajpur Districts (2017) Flood Relief

Plantation Programme:

As the major focus of our organization is environmental awareness, conservation, and protecting the wildlife we undertake plantation programmes as our regular activity to connect people to nature. It implores us to get outdoors and into nature to appreciate its beauty and importance and to take forward the call to protect the local environment that we share. The present situation compelled us to think about how we are a part of nature and how intimately we depend on it. Taking to this into serious account, HNAF undertakes plantation programmes involving different walks of life and primarily the students of different schools to create positive and lasting change at the local and national levels. We aim at creating public awareness of climate change, global warming, and a clean environment.

Animal Rescue:

Every year HNAF conducts an official rescue program of the rare and non-rare species of birds, snakes, and other animals with the help of the certified excellence of its members. Our rescue programmes endeavors to assist West Bengal Forest Department (Wild Life Division)..

Medical Camp:

HNAF runs medical camps on a continuous basis every year in the remotest of the rural areas for the poor and socially challenged families for their health and wellbeing. Patients including children are treated and provided medicine with the assistance of specialist doctors and health staff.

Blood Donation Camp:

HNAF organizes the Annual Blood Donation Camp on the eve of Everest Day (29th May) every year at the HNAF office in association with Voluntary Blood Donor’s Forum. People from different spheres of Siliguri and our members donate blood and collectively it is sent to Siliguri S.D. Hospital.

Vector-Borne Diseases Awareness:

Vector-born diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, Japanese Encephalitis, etc. continued to be a major public health problem in North Bengal and the surrounding area from time to time causing health hazards and deaths among the common people and mostly the poorest segment of the society. HNAF had suggested the need for a sustained awareness programme for the prevention and control and the need for approaches to ensure the translation into practice.
